I wrote this because nobody else was saying it and I got tired of waiting.
Everything in this document is what I actually believe. Not what I think will perform well, not what positions me correctly, not what sounds good on a podcast. These are the conclusions I've arrived at by watching what's happening to the country, reading the people worth reading, and building a company that operates in the part of the economy everyone else ignores.
I could be wrong about some of it, but I'm not wrong about the core of it. America is misdirecting its energy at the most consequential moment in a century, and the people in charge either can't see it or benefit from it continuing. That part is just observable.
This is version 1.0. It will be updated as the thinking evolves and the evidence accumulates. If you're reading this years after the date below and the arguments have held up, that tells you something. If they haven't, I'll have said so publicly.
